Tax Deductions

As a charitable not-for-profit organization, some things related to Kingdoms of Novitas are tax deductible. Not everything is, so it's worth knowing the difference when filing.

Not Tax Deductible

  • Event entry fees (you're receiving something in return)
  • Merchandise purchases
  • Raffle entries
  • Volunteer time itself

Tax Deductible

  • Donations
  • Auction purchases (minus the resale value of anything won)
  • Gas or other expenses incurred while volunteering — standard game events are never volunteer situations, even for staff, but donating time at a Camp Kingsley work day is
