Props & Atmosphere Workgroup
The Props and Atmosphere workgroup sets the visual tone for the game. They are responsible for establishing prop and garb standards, managing the makeup table, and designing or repairing the costuming that brings our NPCs and creatures to life. They also take on special projects to ensure the gameβs overall look consistently meets high quality standards.
Purpose
The Props and Atmosphere Work Group sets the tone for what the game looks like. They:
- Decide what props meet the standards of what the game wants in play
- Costuming for our creatures and NPCs
- Special projects for various objectives
- Running the make-up table every event.
Props and Atmosphere Marshals
- The Props and Atmosphere Marshal is Liska Gutierrez.
- The Props and Atmosphere Second is John Pitorf.
Volunteering
Props and Atmosphere volunteers are needed to:
- Staff the make-up table, making our various creatures and npcs stand out when they are sent into play.
- You don't need to be an expert in make-up to work the make-up table; volunteers can be taught to use the spray gun and other tricks of the trade.
- Make sure NPCs meet the garb standards listed in the encounter codex and watch them for exposed skin that shouldn't be exposed (so that a creature's skin color is consistent).
- Work on making new costuming
- Repair worn costuming
- Anything else that keeps the visuals of the game to the highest standards we can manage
If you are interested in volunteering for Props & Atmosphere, contact one of the Marshals.
Donations
Prop donations need to be approved by the Props Marshal or the Props Second before you will get experience for them. Not every item is of use to the game, and some things we have as many or more of than we actually need.
Props is currently not taking donations for garb, masks, or other game props unless specifically announced.
NPC Kit Incentive
Props and Atmosphere will give 10 experience points to players who provide the following items for their personal NPC kit:
- A Hood
- Neutral-Colored Pants
- A Neutral-Colored Tunic
- Gloves
- A Balaclava
Send a picture of your items to either of the Props and Atmosphere Marshals.
A list of links to pre-approved garb shops can be found on our Discord server.
Boot Experience Incentive
Props and Atmosphere also has an experience incentive for period-appropriate footwear. Every 10 dollars spent on footwear will give you 1 experience point. When you consider that some of the best footwear for game can cost upwards of 200 dollars, that is a good amount of experience!
Players can earn this incentive more than once. This is handy if you need to get a cheaper pair of boots while you are saving up for better footwear, or if you ever need to replace your boots.
