Rules Comittee

The Rules Committee maintains the game’s core mechanics and ensures they remain balanced. They are responsible for updating rules as needed, resolving unusual rules situations, and designing new items and loot to keep the game fresh. They also oversee the development of Feb Feast and other Epic items that go into play.

Purpose

The Rules Committee is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the rules to the game
  • Updating rules periodically or as deemed necessary
  • Determining what happens in unusual rules situations, and letting players know the results
  • Maintaining the balance of all the different mechanics
  • Deciding what loot should be in the game
  • Designing Feb Feast items

Rules Comittee Marshals

The First Marshals lead the Rules Committee:

  • Christina Mevec
  • James Vertucci
  • Ryan Green

Volunteering

Members of the Rules Committee meet regularly between events to discuss new items (such as Rituals, Tinkering Items, or Alchemicals), new creatures, and other concepts to keep the game fresh and exciting.

They also use these meetings to discuss large-scale updates to the rules, which generally are unveiled and take effect at Feb Feast.

The Rules Committee does not seek volunteers; it consists of staff and selectively invited players.
